Tonight it just so happened that I had invited residents to Parliament to talk about Brexit and my support for remaining in the EU. And on such a monumental day too... MPs, well into the late hours, took the first steps towards stopping Boris Johnson's No-Deal Brexit. Back in our room, there was great discussion, and Ed Milliband MP even popped by to say a few words. Thanks to all who took part.

I always absolutely love the family fun day at Ronald McDonald House, St George's Hospital. Being amongst so many warm-hearted and generous people is easily an annual calendar highlight. Ronald McDonald House is a lifeline for so many families, and this year it was extra special to officially open the newly refurbished house. I look forward to hearing about the families who have stayed here and benefited from this much-needed local facility. Here's a sneak peek at my latest campaign. If you live in Tooting and are pro-Remain, sign my petition against Brexit: https://www.drrosena.co.uk/brexit.html Once we get to 10,000 signatures, I will deliver it to Downing Street. Join me and let's send a message to Boris Johnson. We reject his politics of division; we reject him shutting down Parliament; and we reject his Brexit plans. We are pro-Remain and proudly European! Today I dug out my black and white scarf and made the trip down to Imperial Fields. I was absolutely delighted to cheer on Tooting and Mitcham FC at their big FA Cup match against Northwood - and even more delighted when the final whistle blew to confirm the 2-1 victory for our beloved local team. Thank you to all the fans in the stands and the Tooting and Mitcham staff for making it such a wonderful day. So many people contribute to the club, and that's what gives it such heart and soul. What a win! Hope to see you all again soon. It was fantastic to welcome Tooting's latest addition, Cafe Ole, to their new home today. This is a great new local business with such tasty food. The delicious menu made choosing my lunch very difficult, but I'm not sure you can go wrong here anyway. Definitely pop down to the Mitcham Road spot to sample. Whilst out and about meeting and speaking with local businesses today, I popped in to see the team at Lark in Tooting Broadway. They always have so many goodies in stock, and I couldn't help but be tempted by all the Tooting memorabilia. They also have shops in Balham, Earlsfield and beyond, so you're never far from picking up something gorgeous for home or a chic accessory - whether that's a treat for you or a loved one (that you end up keeping for yourself). We've all done that, right? This morning I made the most of the glorious weather with a 5k Park Run at Tooting Common. As always, the volunteers were a real boost, on hand to provide assistance and cheer us onto the finish line when any of us started to flag. In case anyone was wondering, today's playlist included Prodigy, Nuyorican Soul and Stormzy. Now off for a kip! Today I had the privilege of visiting Share Community Garden. Tucked away in the grounds of Springfield Hospital, this charity strives for equal access to employment for all. Share works with and supports people with disabilities to reach their full potential. They provide learning through accredited courses in areas such as independent living, catering, and (of course) horticulture. The beautiful garden is cultivated solely by people with disabilities, and all plants grown here are also available to buy. It's a real treat to visit, and an asset to Tooting. Thank you for having me! More info here: www.sharecommunity.org.uk What a pleasure it was to visit the One Housing team and customers at Thrale Road today. This impressive housing scheme works alongside the NHS and supports the transition of people with complex mental health needs from hospital wards to fulfilling independent living. I was struck by the tranquil garden (complete with vegetable patch), weekly activities, and genuine family feel to the place. An incredible example of compassionate and supportive care. This afternoon I popped in to welcome the guys at Chaiiwala to the Tooting family. The Indian street food franchise - which only very recently opened its doors - is the newest addition to our thriving high street. With tasty food to get stuck into, super cool decor, and friendly service, make sure you give it a chai... |
