Today I had the pleasure of meeting representatives from Homeless Health, Balham Nursery and Children’s Centre, and Home Start.
I am proud to support the partnership between these three wonderful organisations, which will make a real difference to our community.
Yesterday was Election Day in Tooting, as Wandsworth went to the polls for the local elections.
We ran an excellent campaign that worked right up to 10pm last night, speaking to voters across Tooting. The result was Labour’s best result in 30 years in Wandsworth. Together we got 26 Labour Councillors elected, won the popular vote, and came within 141 votes of winning control of the Council. I am disappointed that we didn’t take the Council this time, especially because we had candidates who would have made great Councillors but missed out by desperately small margins. Nevertheless, we should be proud of what we achieved in Wandsworth. On behalf of everyone in Tooting Labour, I want to thank everyone who knocked on a door, phoned a member, delivered a leaflet, or helped in the office during the campaign. You should be proud of the campaign you were a part of. |
