A group of us women MPs, journalists and politicos from across the political divide headed to Lyon, coming together for an an amazing cause: the pursuit of gender equality. We played in 40 degree heat to break the world record for the biggest ever football match. 3,000 players, five whole days, and one goal - to prove that any girl can! Well, that and the world record...

I was contacted by concerned residents in their droves about the welfare of Nazanin and her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, following news of their ongoing hunger strike. Today I met Richard on day 12 of his hunger strike. He is such a humble and gentle person, despite everything his family is going through. We must Free Nazanin. I was asked to speak about my path to politics, my love for Tooting and the people who make our community as vibrant and welcoming as it is. The children also shared their impressive work on the refugee crisis! Also, after leading Broadwater Primary to become Wandsworth's Active School of the Year, I would like to offer a huge congratulations to Mr Madden on becoming the London Sports Teacher of the Year. What a school! The family and friends of Cheyon Evans have invited the Tooting family to a vigil and march in his honour. We will meet tomorrow on the green at Deeside Road from 2pm, There will be some words from 2.45pm and the march will commence at 4pm. Let's show his family love in this time of deep sadness. See you there. I'm working with a local resident on the issue of revenge porn. When your personal photos and videos are stolen from your hacked iCloud account, these photos and videos could be uploaded to a commercialised porn site, without your consent, and that company can profit from your stolen images. The current law seems to be tougher on individuals than corporations - and it's time the porn industry get explicit consent before profiting from content. I am taking a stand and am proud to be working with #NotYourPorn to try and get this loophole closed. "I am heartbroken. Tooting is heartbroken. To us, Cheyon Evans was a son, a brother, a friend - taken too soon. Taken through senseless violence which could have been avoided if we had adequate policing, proper youth provision and gave our young people a sense of hope." Today I asked the Prime Minister, Teresa May, if she will use her remaining days in office to leave a legacy which will change the paths of our young people, or whether we can expect more of the same. You can watch Mrs May's response here: twitter.com/DrRosena/status/1141320662767812608 If you live in Furzedown, then polls have just opened in the local by-election. I'm backing Graham Loveland to be your next Councillor. He is: 🇪🇺 is pro-EU. 🏡 lives locally. 🚌 drives the Furzedown Project minibus. He'll make a great Councillor, so please get out and vote. UPDATE - the full results were: Graham Loveland (Labour): 1811 Jon Irwin (Lib Dem): 887 Nabi Toktas (Conservative): 681 Gerard Harrison (Green): 318 Today I had the pleasure of a morning with students at Penwortham Primary School. They asked some challenging questions - and even answered a few themselves - as we talked about cycling, the importance of road safety and the environment. Students were particularly keen to grill me on the dangers of climate change. What a great way to start the day. I can't wait to come back soon. |
