APPG on Poland

26/1/2026

In a world facing increasing geopolitical instability, the partnership between the United Kingdom and Poland has never been more vital. It was a great honour to be re-elected today as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Poland. Poland has shown extraordinary leadership on the front line of European security, providing unwavering support to its Ukrainian neighbours and welcoming millions of refugees with incredible generosity.

I am proud to continue my work with colleagues across Parliament to deepen the bonds of friendship, security, and cooperation between our two great nations at this crucial time for our continent.

Hands Off Greenland

6/1/2026

Greenland is not a piece of property to be traded on a whim, like moving pieces on a Monopoly board. It is the home of a people, with a unique culture, history, and a fundamental right to self-determination. For the people of Greenland, Trump's rhetoric must be deeply insulting.

Leaders in the UK and across Europe must stand firm, upholding international law and making it clear that such disgraceful politics has no place in the modern world.

New Unison General Secretary

17/12/2025

Huge congratulations to Andrea Egan on her election as the new General Secretary of UNISON. Her leadership comes at a critical time for our public services. Standing up for workers' rights is essential for building a stronger, better-funded NHS where staff are valued and patients are safe.

I look forward to working closely with Andrea to champion our public sector workers and fight for the future of our health service.

Politics Live

19/3/2024

Today, I joined Politics Live to discuss the Tories' botched Rwanda plan. The policy is an inhumane, unworkable gimmick - now they have blocked plans to protect victims of human trafficking and individuals who have supported our armed forces.

It's all done to appease the right of the party.

Peston on ITV

13/3/2024

Tonight, I joined Robert Peston on ITV alongside Conservative MP, Paul Scully, Government Minister, Kevin Hollinrake and environmental campaigner, Fergal Sharkey to discuss the hot topics of the day. We chatted about the appalling comments  made by a Tory donor about Diane Abbott and extremism in the UK.

Words have consequences.

What a disgrace. Whilst Tory MPs tip-toe around racism in their party, there are people living with the consequences of them whipping up vile hatred and sowing division. @itvpeston pic.twitter.com/BpYx49AKA9

Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg

28/1/2024

This morning, I joined the panel on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg alongside former Conservative MP, Nadine Dorries and More in Common's Luke Tryl. We chatted about trust in politics and the situation in the Middle East.

The need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is greater than ever. Too many innocent people have died. #BBCLauraK pic.twitter.com/NoMrTmEQTg
