Calls for a ceasefire in Israel - Gaza

12/12/2023

In Parliament, I renewed my calls to the Foreign Secretary for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Palestinian parents in Gaza love their children as much as we love ours, but theirs are buried under rubble.

Millions are facing starvation.

How many more need to die before the Government call for a ceasefire?

Rwanda Bill

12/12/2023

We have heard lots about the Government's heartless Rwanda scheme.

This circus is the latest saga in the Tory melodrama, but it is the most vulnerable people whose lives they're playing with. Britain is better than this cruel, cynical Tory Government.

I have worked with refugees for more than a decade.  I have heard their experiences of war, violence and terror. Nobody leaves their homes, communities and livelihoods unless they must.

That is why I will always stand against the inhumane Rwanda Bill.

Safe Space

11/12/2023

With the nights getting longer and recent rise in crime, some people feel uncomfortable walking in public alone. I’ve launched my Safe Space campaign, where local businesses can sign up to offer a place of safety.

For businesses that would like to sign-up, head to drrosena.co.uk/safespace

The safety of our community is my top priority as your MP. I know not everyone will feel safe walking in public as the nights get longer.

Furzedown Project Christmas Party

8/12/2023

It was wonderful to attend the Furzedown Project Christmas Party with a great carol performance from local children from Penwortham Primary School. Truly brilliant to see the community come together ahead of Christmas.

Huge delays to access maternal mental health care in England called a scandal

5/12/2023

In today’s Guardian, I reveal the scandal of new mothers being turned away from mental health services.

For some time, I’ve been concerned that new mothers are being left to suffer in silence. My figures show that last year, nearly 20,000 new mothers were turned away from mental health services.

Maternal mental health services are being rationed. This is despite maternal illness costing the whole of society £8.1 billion a year. It is an absolute scandal.

The 8,500 new staff Labour will recruit are vital to solving this crisis.

Small Business Saturday

2/12/2023

On Small Business Saturday, I’m at the local family-run business, Lark in Earlsfield, to showcase small businesses, who are the beating heart of our community.

This year, make sure you show our small businesses some love and buy local.

Trees for London

1/12/2023

This morning, I joined pupils at Garratt Park School in Earslfield to plant the 500,000th tree of Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's Trees for London scheme.

It's vital that we make London a green city for the future, where everyone has access to healthy outdoor space.
