We have been waiting for the Government's review of safe standing in Premier League and Championship stadiums since June last year. Fans have been waiting too long - it is time to change the law.
Together with the FSA, I am setting a deadline for the Government - change the Safe Standing law by the end of the season. Peter Daykin, Stand Up For Choice co-ordinator at the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) said: "Fans await the report into standing at football with interest and welcome support from across the political spectrum on this issue. "In the past year supporters have continued to stand in safety at football which helps generate the atmospheres that we love inside stadiums. "We want to see clubs given the freedom to implement what works best for them on a local level, in consultation with their supporter-base." Football fans have waited long enough. Agree?
