
Sarmila Varatharaj
Sarmila was born and raised in Wandsworth. Since being a student at Burntwood, she has been a Human Rights activist where the teachers helped her become a voice representing victims, communities, and the public. Sarmila is now a regular attendee to the United Nations Human Rights Council. She has been a campaigner for the Labour Party since being the first in her family to attend university. She graduated at the top of my Class having studied, worked, and volunteered abroad in 4 countries as part of her degree.

Denise Paul
Denise Paul was raised in the heart of Wandle Ward in Wandsworth and is now a senior governance lead within the Civil Service, where she also set up and chaired an Ethnicity & Race Network Group. Denise has a strong sense of civic duty and political efficacy and is passionate about her local community. She volunteers and supports the Earlsfield Foodbank and Nicholas Stewart Project, initiatives providing local solutions to social issues. Denise has also successfully led and advocated for positive change to landscaping, a play area, and established a Residents Association in her local neighbourhood. Denise is a voice for everyone.
