Seeing London’s murder rate fall to its lowest level on record is profoundly welcome news. For families across Tooting, feeling safe in our community is everything. While some talk our city down, our Mayor, Sadiq Khan, is delivering results through a public health approach to crime and tackling its root causes. This focus on prevention and early intervention is making a real difference. In my work with local police, I know this partnership is crucial. This is Labour in action: getting on with the job and building a safer city for us all. 
It was a thrill to officially open Taking Care of Fitness today, a brilliant new hub just moments from Tooting Bec station. This new studio’s focus on small group training offers a welcoming space for local people.
Their dedication to holistic community health is particularly inspiring. By partnering with organisations like Parkinson’s UK and local rehab groups, they are building a truly inclusive service. This is a wonderful addition to Tooting and I encourage everyone to check out their opening offers
Greenland is not a piece of property to be traded on a whim, like moving pieces on a Monopoly board. It is the home of a people, with a unique culture, history, and a fundamental right to self-determination. For the people of Greenland, Trump's rhetoric must be deeply insulting. Leaders in the UK and across Europe must stand firm, upholding international law and making it clear that such disgraceful politics has no place in the modern world.  Despite the chill this morning, it was brilliant to be out in Balham with our dedicated Labour team for a canvass and coffee session. Starting the year as we mean to go on, we spoke with residents ahead of the crucial local elections this May. The response on the doorstep was incredibly heart-warming and encouraging. It is this community spirit that truly defines our area. A huge thank you to everyone who shared their views with us and to our fantastic volunteers for braving the cold!
