NHS London Trainee Conference

30/1/2026

Being the keynote speaker at the London Trainee Network was a tremendous honour. Sharing my journey, from working as a humanitarian doctor in some of the world’s most challenging environments to my shifts on the A&E frontline, was a chance to reflect on the experiences that shaped me. My path eventually led to Parliament, where I strive to bring that frontline perspective to policymaking.

Meeting the aspiring medics in the room was profoundly inspiring. Their passion, intelligence, and sheer dedication give me immense hope for the future of healthcare. They are the reason we must fight to protect and properly fund our NHS, to give them a system that supports their vital work. I hope my story encourages them to see that a career in medicine can take many forms.

On ITV Peston

29/1/2026

The UK's multicultural society is one of our country's greatest triumphs, a source of immense strength and pride. Here in Tooting, our vibrant and diverse communities are the heart of what makes our area so special, enriching us all.

When we witness the vile killing of protestors, like those seen in the United States, it serves as a horrifying reminder that progress is never guaranteed and must always be defended. We must stand together against the politics of division and hate wherever it emerges.

As I argued on ITV's Peston last night, our inclusivity is an incredible asset. I will always champion the tolerant, open, and vibrant society that embodies the very best of Britain and which we must never take for granted. Our differences do not divide us; they make our country stronger.
@drrosena

I will always defend the values I hold dear. Not just because I’m the daughter of Polish and Pakistani immigrants, but because I know our communities are stronger for our diversity. While we've seen such vile killings of protesters on the streets of the US, it only strengthens my resolve to champion our beautiful, diverse communities here at home. Our strength is in our unity, not our division.

Leasehold Reform

27/1/2026

For far too long, the dream of homeownership has turned into a nightmare for thousands of families. Across Tooting, people tell me how they are being fleeced by a broken leasehold system with extortionate ground rents and spiralling fees. This isn't just a financial burden; the constant worry and lack of control takes a genuine toll on people's wellbeing. The current system is fundamentally unjust and long overdue for reform.

Labour will bring this exploitation to an end. By capping ground rents and introducing a proper right for leaseholders to take control through commonhold, we will put power back into the hands of homeowners. These changes are about delivering security, fairness, and control, finally ending this feudal practice for good.

Holocaust Memorial Day

27/1/2026

Holocaust Memorial Day is a solemn moment to remember the six million Jews murdered and the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution, genocide, and atrocity. It is a day to honour the survivors whose stories serve as a powerful testament to human resilience in the face of unimaginable horror.

We must relentlessly confront antisemitism and all forms of discrimination wherever they arise.

APPG on Poland

26/1/2026

In a world facing increasing geopolitical instability, the partnership between the United Kingdom and Poland has never been more vital. It was a great honour to be re-elected today as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Poland. Poland has shown extraordinary leadership on the front line of European security, providing unwavering support to its Ukrainian neighbours and welcoming millions of refugees with incredible generosity.

I am proud to continue my work with colleagues across Parliament to deepen the bonds of friendship, security, and cooperation between our two great nations at this crucial time for our continent.

Trump Disrespecting NATO Troops

22/1/2026

Donald Trump’s remarks disparaging fallen NATO soldiers are deeply troubling and fundamentally wrong. For anyone who has served, or who has seen the brutal consequences of conflict up close, such blatant disrespect is unthinkable.

Our armed forces personnel, past and present, represent the very best of our country, making sacrifices many of us can barely comprehend. Trump's comments are an unforgivable insult to their memory, their families, and to the very values of service and duty we cherish. Here in Britain, we will always honour our fallen heroes.

Narcotics Anonymous

20/1/2026

Today, I welcomed Narcotics Anonymous to Parliament to hear their incredibly powerful testimonies. As an A&E doctor, I have seen first-hand the devastating toll that addiction takes not just on individuals, but on their families and wider communities. This is a health crisis, and organisations like NA provide a crucial lifeline where services are often stretched. They offer a non-judgemental, supportive community for people seeking recovery, demonstrating that a different path is possible.

Their dedication to helping others is genuinely inspiring. For anyone struggling, please know that help is available around the clock. The team at Narcotics Anonymous provide vital support 24/7.

More information can be found at ukna.org or by calling their helpline (0300 999 1212). You do not have to face this alone.

Social Media Ban

15/1/2026

The internet offers incredible opportunities, but we have a duty to ensure it is a safe space for our children. As the former Shadow Minister for Mental Health, I know the profound impact social media can have on young people’s wellbeing.

Many of you in Tooting have contacted me recently, raising your concerns and calling for a potential social media ban for under-16s. This is a complex debate, and it is vital that your voices are heard. To ensure my work in Parliament reflects our community's views, I want to hear from you.

Please share your thoughts here.

Protests in Iran

14/1/2026

The reports emerging from Iran are truly harrowing. Thousands of brave individuals have been killed for simply demanding their fundamental human rights. The courage of those on the streets is incredibly inspiring.

World leaders have a moral duty to hold the Iranian regime to account for these atrocities. We must stand unequivocally with those courageously fighting for their freedom and for a future free from tyranny.

Ending Corridor Care

13/1/2026

The sight of vulnerable patients on trolleys lining a busy hospital corridor is something I witness regularly during my A&E shifts. This practice is fundamentally unsafe and strips people of their dignity when they are at their most vulnerable.

Every patient deserves to be treated in a proper bed, not left waiting in a hallway. I am pleased the Government has now committed to ending corridor care. As Chair of the APPG on Emergency Care, I look forward to working with them to make this a reality and ensure everyone gets the compassionate care they deserve.
@drrosena

The sight of patients on trolleys in corridors is heartbreaking. As an A&E doctor, I see daily how it compromises dignity and care. I am pleased that this Government is committed to ending it and I look forward to working with them so that everyone gets the care they deserve. #parliament #NHS #CorridorCare #AandE #tooting
