Your Wandsworth Common candidates

Elections to Wandsworth Council will take place on 7 May. Since 2022 Wandsworth's Labour Council have kept the lowest council tax in the country while still investing in brilliant local services.

James Foster

James lives locally and is proud to raise his baby daughter in Wandsworth. He works for Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP, supporting residents facing hardship and fighting for those without a voice.

​He's standing to make Wandsworth safer and fairer for families. Before politics, He had a 20-year restaurant career, including training prisoners with The Clink Charity, helping rebuild lives.

Melanie McLaren​

A local mum in Wandsworth Common, Melanie spent her career defending human rights — from working with refugees in Hong Kong to supporting survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse at Rape Crisis England & Wales.

​She is passionate about tackling violence against women and girls, championing the local arts scene, and bringing Labour representation to Wandsworth Common in May.

Ellie Pyemont

Ellie is a local parent, business owner, and former Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector who specialised in domestic abuse. She previously served as a school governor.

​Ellie is passionate about teaching local children to swim and remains committed to public safety. She brings extensive public service and business experience as part of the Labour candidate team for Wandsworth Common.

  • You can vote anytime between 7am and 10pm.
  • You DON’T need your poll card to vote: just turn up and give your name and address.
  • You now need photo ID to vote.
  • You have three votes, you can vote for all three Labour candidates.
  • If you make a mistake on your ballot paper, ask for another.
