Sign my letter to the Prime Minister.
10 Downing Street
Dear Prime Minister,
Halt the Junior Doctor contract imposition.
The Junior Doctor contract has allegedly been built on the premise that we will see a safer service for patients. We wholeheartedly agree that we are in need of an NHS where our patients come first.
The leaked documents from the Department of Health revealed by the Guardian and Channel 4 News have confirmed our fears that patient safety was not the priority. It is dangerous to create a 7-day NHS with an already overstretched 5-day team without any extra funding.
By imposing the contract before a full investigation has been conducted, the Government will be risking lives.
A truly 7-day NHS should not be at the expense of our doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and all those who commit their lives to our NHS. It is our firm belief that the proposed Junior Doctor contract undervalues the workforce and ultimately endangers the lives of patients who put their trust in the system.
We are calling on you to step in and halt the imposition of the Junior Doctor contract until this is investigated fully.
