This International Women's Day, I will be bringing together Tooting women to discuss Women in Leadership.
The centenary of the 1918 Representation of the Peoples Act, has been a milestone celebration for women’s rights, but also a stark reminder of how far there still is to go. In Parliament alone, women only account for 32% of all MPs, despite making up more than half of the UK population. More widely, there is a distinct lack of women reaching leadership, management, and key decision-making roles, both in public life and within the private sector.
To highlight some of the hurdles that women still face in reaching these positions, I am reaching out to local inspirational women to join in the discussion with guest politicians.
