Keep Fishponds playing fields open

We're calling on Wandsworth Council to keep Fishponds playing fields open - add your name here

Dear resident,

Petition to keep Fishponds playing fields open

We are in unprecedented times, and with Covid-19 restricting our movements, it is absolutely vital that local residents have proper access to recreation facilities. Keeping fit and active, especially during winter, is vital to promote positive mental health.

Just around the corner, off Hebdon Road, are Fishponds playing fields - which are used by local schools and sports clubs but it is only open to the public when the playing fields have been booked. This means, as local residents, we can't always access it. This is a real shame, especially as there is very little parkland and open space in this area.

During the summer, the playing fields were open from 8am-6pm, daily. Local families used the fields for their morning walks, family picnics, and games for the children. My children really enjoyed their time spent playing there, as did other families. As we head into winter, these opening times are under threat and the fields could be closed to local residents.

I’m joining with local Ward Councillors Annamarie Critchard, James Daley and Paul White to ask Wandsworth Council to keep Fishponds playing fields open.

We’re asking that the fields are open to the public every day from 0800-1800 in summer and from 0800-1600 in winter. That means local people can continue to use the fields for exercise and play.

To add your name to the petition, go to www.drrosena.co.uk/fishponds.html

Getting everyone in your house to sign would really help the campaign; please do ask friends and neighbours to sign as well!

Together, let's show the Council how much local people need their open spaces.

Best,

Rosena
